This filly is just a little bit special. A beautiful palomino filly with an outstanding and unusual palomino leopard spotted coat.
By the up and coming young perlino leopard spotted warmblood GFS Fire and Ice (IFS) she is Fire and Ice’s first Australian foal.
Fire and Ice has an eventing pedigree that should be envied. Ice’s dam Folly is by the leading sire of event horses Rock King. Rock King is the sire of the Olympic eventer Rock Model. He also sired four competitors at the 2008 CCI **** at Luhmuhlen. Rock King was renowned for his fantastic temperment, excellent paces and superb jumping technique. As a four year old Rock King won the Stoneways Potential Showjumper and was in the final twelve for the Young Event Horse Class. From there his career sky rocketed. Sadly, his career was tragically cut short whilst competing at Tweeseldown Horse Trials in 2000 where he sustained a fatal injury. He was at that time already Advanced, accruing over 200 BE points during his short career which would otherwise undoubtedly have seen him feature in many major horse trials. He was sired by, Just a Monarch, a stallion that produced many superb competition stock over the years. Many of his proven progeny include the International Event Horses, Kings Jester, Just an Ace and Midnight Monarch, as well as point-to-pointer Mark Methane who has won over 30 races.
Rock Kings’ dam, Rockys Double and Grand dam, Farley Mount were both prolific producers of CCI **** Eventers, including; Double Trust, Alfresco, Trust in me and Kilcashel. Spring Fidgit Vll, Follys dam was sired by Bohemond, Sire of Olympic Eventer, Withcote Nellie and her dam’s dam a Conemara jumping pony, Spring Fidgit which is where her glorious golden colour and very pretty almost ‘pony’ head. Both Folly’s sire and dam can trace their ancestry back to Pharos, with a great number of highly acclaimed racehorse royalty adorning the family tree in between. ‘Ice’ has inherited the dilute gene from both parents and in addition to this he has inherited his sires leopard spotted coat pattern.
The dam line of this filly is from our homebred mare GrandView Lah De Dah (IFS). Lah De Dah’s sire, Le Primeur has the genes of performance test winners Laptop and the dam’s sire Pinkus produced this runner up of the Verden stallion licensing in 1999. Le Primeur descends out of a damline with the highest evaluation for conformation, and Le Primeur himself has extraordinary type, expression, good conformation and a willingness to perform at the highest levels of both disciplines of dressage and jumping. At his performance test he scored a 9 for character, 9 for temperament & trainability, 9 for conformation, 8 for free jumping, 9 for show jumping, 10 for natural jumping ability and 9 for rideability. Le Primeur’s sire Laptop is a stallion that has Ladykiller, Capitano, Cor de la Bryere and Gottard as distinguished great grandsires, and the genes of the successful Celle sire Loredo.
The damline of Laptop also produced international show jumpers including the approved stallion Spartan, who is the sire of the State stallion Stakkato, who is one of the best show jumping horses at the moment. Winner of his performance test in 1995, Laptop has outstanding conformation and excellent rhythmical movements, especially in walk and canter. Further, he is endowed with the best mental qualities. He has a lot of ability and technique over jumps and outstanding rideability. He has great willingness to work. In 1996 he started twice at elementary show jumping competitions and was the winner both times. He has a 1997 winning sum of over DM1,000,000.
Lah De Dah’s dam’s sire needs no introduction! Brilliant invader has made it into the top 5 Eventing Stallions of the world on numerous occasions and has been voted Number 1 twice and is still ranked in the top 50. The most famous of his New Zealand offspring was Ready Teddy, individual Gold medal winner at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. He was also the sire of Andrew Nicholson’s top 3* horse Mister Maori. The most successful of Brilliant Invader’s stock in Australia include Street Talk, which went to World Cup show jumping level for Michelle Clark of South Australia. In Victoria, Jane Griffin’s Koyuna Mousetrap, a successful eventer and show jumper, and Angela Dobbins’ Mini Prix horse Hush, and Rebecca Allen’s World Cup show jumper, Koyuna Ted are by him. Koyuna Ted was also selected to the 2009 Elite Show Jumping Squad before retiring hurt. Wendy Schaeffer’s current eventing champions Koyuna Sun Dancer, Koyuna Sun Shine and Koyuna Sun Storm are all by Brilliant Invader. Brilliant Invader’s potential as a jumping sire shines through his pedigree.
Fergie is going to be tall, estimating she will mature around the 16.2hh-3hh and will be a cracking eventing prospect with a pedigree like it has, with the added bonus of a glorious golden spotted coat.
2021 Fergie has a palomino spotted filly by Emeral Vant Ruytershof. This filly, GrandView Ever so Clever (IFS), has been retained by the stud.
2023 Fergie is in foal to the lovely fewspot knabstrupper stallion Pax Asgard Af Pegasus. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a few spot filly.
